Education is a pre-conditional issue for the development field and
it is the basic and prime need of the people living in the community. Due to
extreme poverty, most of the people are deprived of education. At present Swadesh Mrittika Manab Unnayan Songstha)
is working for non-formal and formal education and will look forward technical
and IT education on priority basis. Considering the current need, Swadesh Mrittika Manab Unnayan Songstha
is effectively implementing the following education projects in Bangladesh.
Education is the right of every human being living on this earth. Due to
extreme poverty in Bangladesh,
more than 40% of the total population of the country are deprived of education.
Currently, Swadesh Mrittika Manab
Unnayan Songstha is implementing
non-formal education program in the target areas in Bangladesh. More than 135 underprivileged and dropped out
children are getting non-formal education through Swadesh Mrittika Manab Unnayan Songstha through 02 education centres
in Raipura upzila of Narshingdi district and Khalishpur upazila in Khulna
District. The project is providing basic education specifically literacy,
numeracy, social science, religious education for the respective religion,
health and hygiene awareness and education in emergency includes disaster
preparedness. Swadesh Mrittika Manab
Unnayan Songstha is looking forward to set up formal school for the poor
and orphan within shortest possible time. Swadesh
Mrittika Manab Unnayan Songstha another wings are Stipend and technical education
Programme: (a) Stipend Program for the poor and orphan: Swadesh Mrittika Manab Unnayan Songstha is implementing stipend
programme for the poor and orphan students to encourage them who will be
academically sound. (b). Technical
Education Program: Swadesh Mrittika Manab Unnayan
Songstha is in advocacy
/awareness stage for Technical Education to set up Vocational Training centres
and Technical Institute to create academic and professional opportunities for
the vulnerable
children in accordance with the community norms and market-driven employment

আল কুরআন থেকে জানা যায়, নবীগণ শিক্ষা প্রচারের উদ্দেশ্যেরই প্রেরিত হয়েছিলেন। তাঁরা শিক্ষার তাৎপর্য এবং লক্ষ্য উদ্দেশ্য সুস্পষ্টভাবে নিজ নিজ জাতির সামনে পেশ করেছেন। সর্বেশেষ নবী হযরত মুহাম্মাদ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম ও শিক্ষক হিসেবেই প্রেরিত হয়েছিলেন। তাঁর উপর অবতীর্ণ আল কুরআন এবং তাঁর নিজের বাণী হাদীস থেকে শিক্ষার তাৎপর্য এবং লক্ষ্য উদ্দেশ্য দিবালোকের মতো প্রতিভাত হয়।
১ শিক্ষা কি?
এবার আমরা জানতে চেষ্টা করবো শিক্ষা কি? শিক্ষার সংজ্ঞা কি? তাৎপর্য কি? আর প্রকৃতপক্ষে শিক্ষা বলতে কি বুঝায়? প্রথমে কয়েকটি শব্দ ব্যাখ্যা করতে চাই। যেসব শব্দ ব্যবহার করে শিক্ষা বুঝানো হয় সেগুলোর বিশ্লেষণ শিক্ষার মর্ম বুঝার সহায়ক হবে। যেমন কোনো বস্তুকে বুঝতে হলে তার উপাদান বিশ্লেষণ করে দেখা একান্ত জরুরি।
ইংরেজি ভাষায় শিক্ষার প্রতিশব্দ হলো Education. Education শব্দের সাধারণ আভিধানিক অর্থ হলো : শিক্ষাদান ও প্রতিপালন, শিক্ষাদান, শিক্ষ। Educate মানে : to bring up and instruct, to teach, to train অর্থাৎ প্রতিপালন করা ও শিক্ষিত করিয়া তোলা, শিক্ষা দেওয়া, অভ্যাস করানো।২
Joseph T. Shipley তাঁর Dictionary of word Origins এ লিখেছেন, Education শব্দটি এসেছে ল্যাটিন Edex এবং Ducer-Duc শব্দগুলো থেকে। এ শব্দগুলোর শাব্দিক অর্থ হলো, যথাক্রমে বের করা, পথ প্রদর্শন করা। আরেকটু ব্যাপক অর্থে তথ্য সংগ্রহ করে দেয়া এবং সুপ্ত প্রতিভা বিকশিত করে দেয়া।
একজন শিক্ষাবিদ লিখেছেন, Education শব্দের বুৎপত্তি অনুযায়ী শিক্ষা হলো শিক্ষার্থীর মধ্যকার ঘুমন্ত প্রতিভা বা সম্ভবনার পথ নির্দেশক।
